Woodstock pride

 Amsterdam will host a "gay pride" this weekend. The citizens expect thousands of gays and lesbians dancing on the boats to the beat of electronic drums. It has been quite a long time since the first "pride" was organized. Like many other similar festivals that once were organized for "ideological reasons" this too became a commercialized feast of insolent advertisements in muddling rhythms. No one seems to expect a respectful thought behind it. On the other hand, everyone expects a turmoil of loud music accompanied by half-naked men and (I hope) women. The only reason to see the pride is that it might include some artistic values.
